Recent Developments

1.    Mediators now covered under Supreme Court Foreclosure Mediation Rules (Rule 4) for purposes of judicial ethics canons.

2.     Lay member JoAnn Elston, a Republican from Washoe County, was appointed by Governor Sandoval on June 15, 2011, to replace Mary Lau as an alternate commissioner.  The governor had previously appointed Mary Lau of Lyon County, who was an alternate, as a  replacement for Robert Weise, who had resigned his commission as a primary member. 

3.     The Supreme Court issued an Order Amending Part VIII of The Supreme Court Rules relative to the Standing Committee procedures under ADKT 0458 on June 29, 2011, to be effective on Friday, July 29, 2011.  The order can be viewed in its entirety by clicking here.

4.      Alternate member, Bill Hoffman, has resigned effective August 4, 2011, to be sworn in as a Federal Magistrate Judge on August 5, 2011.

5.     Gregory Kamer was appointed by the State Bar of Nevada to replace Bill Hoffman as an alternate attorney member effective August 17, 2011.
