Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics

Purpose: This committee is comprised of 12 attorney members appointed by the State Bar of Nevada; 12 lay members appointed by the Governor of Nevada; and, 6 judges appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court. The committee was created to provide judges and aspirants to judicial office advisory opinions regarding ethical matters that may arise in the ordinary course of judicial service or in the elective or appointment process.

OPENINGS/TERM LENGTH:

Judicial Members: None at this time (March 2011).

Attorney Members: None at this time (March 2011).

Lay Members:  Three members are needed at this time (March 2011).

Term Length:  Two-year terms with no member appointed to more than four, consecutive full terms.
