Wayne Chimarusti, Attorney at Law
Alternate Commissioner Chimarusti is a 1968 graduate of the University
of California, San Diego, and a 1976 graduate of the University of San
Diego School of Law. In between schools, he served a tour in the U.S.
Army. At the time of his discharge in December of 1971, he was a first
lieutenant in the infantry. From 1972 to 1973, he worked as a marine
biology technician for the National Marine Fisheries in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Mr. Chimarusti has been in private general practice in Nevada since
1977, and has been a sole practitioner since 1981. Martindale-Hubbell has
awarded him with an “AV” rating. He served as president of the First
Judicial District Bar Association from 1998-89 and has been a member of
the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association since 1977.
In December of 1988, Mr. Chimarusti was appointed to serve the first of
six consecutive one year terms as the “at-large” member of the governing
board of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. He served as Chairman of the
governing board from 1992 to 1994.
Commissioner Chimarusti and his wife Sally have three sons, Steven
Chimarusti, Garin Aglietti and Ryan Aglietti.
Commissioner Chimarusti was appointed by the State Bar of Nevada as an
alternate in January 2001.
His current
appointment expires January 2013.
